Odd size or custom toolboxes

Anyone make odd size or custom diamond plate toolboxes? (Although I am not sure I really want to pay for custom work...)

My ideal box would be 36"-40" (L) x 12" (H) x 9"-12" (D).

There are 2 on the bay right now--12x12x24 and a 12x12x32--both for about a c-note which aren't too bad but they are a little small:

After copious searching I think I finally ruled out ammo boxes--just can't find what I want.

I would recommend going to a local sheetmetal shop and asking them. If you go to a shop you can better decribe what you want and won't have to pay for shipping.

I know just where to lead you!
I just recently got a toolbox from ebay with close to those dimensions - believe it or not I got it for under $275

The guy I've been dealing with is Martin and he's at http://www.customtoolboxes.com

EXCELLENT customer service!
One of the first things I did was lock my keys in the toolbox :pat:
Martin has arranged for a spare key to be mailed my way with no extra charge!

You can find some of his non-custom stuff on Ebay if you search by seller ID: mr_marting

Good luck!

EDIT:
Just saw that you've already checked out Ebay. Send this guy a message and I'm sure he'll try to work something out with you.

I'm not sure if they're all that good at keeping water out when it's coming from below the lip.
But I've washed my truck quite a lot and have had no problems with leaking with water coming from above. The metal is thin and I have some dents to show for it but I like what I have. It holds what I want it to hold and it locks when I want it to lock. That's all I want and ask for.

does anyone have a truck like mine? japan style bed short bed.... form an 85 era, or any of the shortbed japan syle...... with a toolbox in the back? i have been severly looking at chest boxes, however all of them actually seem to be too wide in the spaces from the front bed wall to the wheelwells... it appears to onmly have 12" of clearance, and all the chest boxes i see seem to be designed to be 20" like for a longbed compact... darnit! my measurements i have come up with are 12" from bedwall to fenderwells, 16" tall (flush with bed top) up to maybe 20" tall, dont mind the extra hieght, and 52" long and thats alowwing a couple inches per side for still accessing the tie down hooks
