Noise from suspension. Any ideas?

Sups all. I have this squeaky, almost like a chirping noise when I go over bumps. I changed my rear shocks recently and the sound is still there so I know its not that. Anyone have any ideas what it is? I have exhausted my limited knowledge of suspensions.

Thanks all

I have a similar noise. But I'm set on the fact that it is my brush guard causing it since I only have about 27k on it.
(Actually I don't even want to think it may be a suspension problem this soon)

I have the fix for this.

1st you will need at least one friend and a 12pack of beer to fix this problem

2nd. Place said friend and beer into your 4x4

3rd. Drive out to your local 4x4 run. (drink beer)

4th. Find the biggest meanest mud hole at run. (drink more beer)

5th Drive threw mud hole (while drinking beer) several times at full throttle. (You must coat the entire undercarraige and all body pannels with mud for this fix to work.)

6th. Problem should now be fixed. but treatment may need to be re-applied at least once a month.

If this does not fix your noisey suspension repeat steps 2 to 5.

does that maethod realyl work 4Hummer

but i have had the same prob with my lift. i pin pointed my squeeking to the leaf pack. i hosed the pack down with WD-40 (i know i know , probably not the best solution) and the noise went down a lot. still squeeks but not as bad.

Yes that method works. Maybe its the Canadian Mud ???

Maybe The Mud sound deadens the noise ? Maybe the Mud lubes whatever parts are ratteling, Maybe the mud cakes whatever parts are loose ?

I dunno but always works for me

I have a slight squak from my sway bar bushing. Is WD 40 good enough? I really don't want to go to the dealer.

The rubber bushing is probably torn and is sliding out...so you are hitting metal on metal. WD40 will help for 5 mins of driving. The swaybar is like 4 botls...easy to drop out and replace the bushings.

how do remove the bushing on the eye of the shock near the control arm (I have one that is torn and need replacment). Will the shock decompress and be a pain to get back in place?

Do you have the cone bumpstops? On many 4runners the top of the spring will squeek where it is metal on metal. The cone bumpstops put a small rubber barrier between them. The bushings also will cause squeeking, even if they aren't bad. Mine would start to squeek a few months after lubing them. I finally got sick of pulling them off the grease them up and tapped grease fittings into the mounts. So far so good.

I had a squeaking noise like that and it turned out to be loose top shock nuts on the front suspension.
