No brake lights on '87 pickup 22R?

Is there a "brake light" fuse and where is it located? How can I check the operation of the brake light switch (under the dash engaged by the brake pedal)? Is there anything else I can check besides the bulbs themselves....neither side lights nor the ones on my utility trailer. Thanks!
