Well this is my aria I guess!
My buddy has a 97 240sx that we swapped the SR20DET into! FYI the stock KA is 2.4L and the SR is 2.0L (sometimes stroked to 2.2L!) I dont think that there would be much trouble with fit if you want an SR, but if you want to keep your 4X4 the price is gonna be impressive! Just gowing NA and 2wd all your gonna need is mounts and a custome driveshaft. But... The 4X4 is gonna be tough! I would try a Nissan Exterra x-case and tranny, I think that they will bolt up to the SR tranny bell housing (Iv seen an SR Exterra and can probably get the scoop)!?! Then mounts, driveshafts and shift linkages! If you want a 50K KA Ive got one in my shead with tranny, I think my buddy wants $700 for it!
Im really interested in this... If it goes forward feel free to call on me. I have direct access to the guy who did the first running US SR swap and (being a fellow toy owner) am glad to do what I can for you.

Yo travis, I think you got it all wrong. He asked if the TURBO from a Nissan 240 would fit in a 4Runner. NOT THE ENTIRE ENGINE (at least thats what I think you are explaining?)
No, I highly doubt the turbo would fit. First of all, and the most obvious, is the fact that the Nissan 240 never had a V6 (at least I'm not aware of one) and the a turbo manifold from a 4cy obviously would not fit a V6 engine. Even if it did have a V6, I'm sure its all different.

duh,
Ok If you want to TC the 3.0 with the turbo from a 240sx (Sr 2.0 liter) then all you need is a T25 flange. However if you want to take the turbo from a 300zx Vg motor (3.0 liter) then you need a T3 flange! Of course you will need to fab some manifolds!!! Just to let you know the Sr was the japanese motor for the 240sx and the only car that has a similar motor is an Infiniti G20t. Sorry about my thick head. Let me know if there is anything you need to know about nissan motors and turbocharging motors, as I probably have the answer or can get it from my buddy.

I made a mistake, the turbo is from a 3.0L 300ZX V6. Thanx for the link. That's the only time I have heard of a turbo on the 3.0L Runner. It makes it seem entirely do able.

That's what's great about turbos ... you can graft them on just about anything if you can make the exhaust manifold to bolt it to.
Let me know how this works out for you. I'm very interested in seeing more turbo'ed 4runners ...
