NICE--1UZ-FE Lexus V8 in a 2nd gen 4Runner :-)

Let's start with the soundfile; this isn't your typical 4Runner.

AUDIO

This would make a great swap.

The swap has also been done on Supras:

If my 3.0 ever dies...

Refresh your browser. They were on a Geocities site that was quickly overwhelmed; I transferred them over to my website.

That is nice looking.
What year(s) is the Lexus engine in there?
Which tranny does it bolt up to?

It doesn't look like there is any more room for a radiator or fan in front of that engine. Obviously there was since he got it certified. Did we get those engines here in the states? Also, his dyno shows only 150 HP - is he using a different measure of HP and is there a conversion to US HP?

Damn Geocities website probably only allows 20 hits per day...I haven't been able to get on that site since I started this thread to get more details. I believe the 4Runner used the A340H auto where the Supra used the W58--but I could be mistaken.

What impresses me is that the engine fits so well. No body lift needed and with an electric fan it is tight up front but very doable. It seems that the biggest problem has to do with fabricating a flywheel that allows the truck transmission to be used, modding the bellhousing for use, and then that rats nest of wiring! Seems to be a similar technical difficulty to the Supra swaps that have been done but the torque curve of the engine is much better suited to a truck.

I love the sound of that bite! It sounds alot like my friends 10 second mach mustang. I'd love to pull up to a light and rev it like that. Maybe even put in one of those y pipe header uncorkers and uncork them next to a rice rocket. Or a motorcycle, they both are too loud and need to be put in their place.

There is no need to convert....HP is HP either here or the UK.
It is not the HP that would be impressive it is the TOURQUE!
That was making 325 FT-LBS......that is huge!

Yeah we do have those ngines here in the states as an option on some lexus vehicles.

Dang, man, I would love to get one of those in my ride!
