Thumbs up New VORTEX exhaust on my 2000 4Runner

I recently bought the Vortex Classic muffler from Jason Burtman's Burtman Industries

If your looking for a Throaty V8 sound, this muffler is the one. It will change the sound significantly. Will also add 8-10 HP and 2-3 MPG on your vehicle. I put the Vortex muffler on my 2000 Toyota 4Runner. If you have any questions about the muffler then email me at mrhansen@austin.rr.com or just go to Burtman Industries and email Jason Burtman himself!!!

I will definitely rate this exhaust with 5 Stars!!!

2-3mpg? Are you sure? Anyone else with such drastic improvements? Also, from what I have heard, VORTEX mufflers are more loud and ricey than throaty...

um 8-10 HP and 2-3 MPG?

Let me see some data proving that, then I'll consider it...

I think you would be pressed to get those numbers with a complete cat back system let alone a muffler.

Reply to vortex exhaust

You can get a sound clip from http://get.to/jason and go to videos and listen to 4 or 5 sound clips.

The vortex muffler is a combination between the mustang GT throaty V8 and Flowmasters.

My 4Runner originally got about 210 miles a tank highway miles. Now im seeing a big improvement up to 240 miles a tank.

Let me know if you need anymore answers. You can also go to www.burtmanindustries.com and talk to him yourself.

While it does sound really good...it does NOT yield those results.

I noticed a small difference in performance and no difference in mileage...so I would doubt that you saw those kind of results unless you did some other, quite significant work to it at the same time.

The Vortex does not sound ricey at all...it is a very throaty, even toned exhaust.

Even JB (Jason B.) will not tell you that it will give you 8-10hp...that is a huge jump from just a muffler!! Not to mention the 2-3mpg increase, if those results happened because of this muffler than Jason better start stocking these things in HUGE numbers!

I'm skeptical of those results my friend...but if you have some proven data on it, thatd be great.

Depends on where you are and how much money you're willing to drop to get strapped into a dyno...I'm sure someone on here from Texas would be happy to tell you where the local dyno shop is.

Hey man, it's understandable. None of us are trying to rip on you, we just don't quite think that results could be obtained from just a muffler. It's cool that you like it, and that you have seen improvements in gas mileage and power. I will have to look into it. How does it sound at idle? Driving I don't care, but at idle I'd like it to be as quiet as possible.

Ok, cool cool. When I go camping, using my camper in the back, I wouldn't like to have a loud muffler when I have my truck idling to charge the camper batt.
