Get rid of the grandpa stripes and either trash the brushgaurd or get it chromed.

everyone seems to like the wheels, i personally don't care too much for them. they're from the newer taco, so i guess they're hard to find. maybe i can trade someone local for a set of some black D-windows or something. i'm not sure about the grill yet or not. see i don't like the headlights on the 95.5-97 and i kinda like how the grill cover's those. i wish i could have gotten like a 2002+ but this was a killer deal for me. so can anybody suggest a nice way to lift the truck some? i wasn't sure if a body lift, suspension lift, or whatever is best. i just wanna be able to run some 33's or something...maybe 35's down the road. thanks for the comments!! keep 'em coming! |

hey so i searched about the isr and deckplate mod. looks like the deckplate mod won't apply to me cause its got a k&n style filter on it....but i can do the isr mod, so that'll be one of the first things i do! i might even just weld up a nice intake pipe to replace all that stock plastic junk!
here's the engine shot:

Nice truck except for the brush guard and gold stripes. Wheels look good IMO.
Heres a decent lift thats reasonably priced... See System #6.0 http://www.sonoransteel.com/store_co..._liftkits.html If you have more to spend, Complete leaf packs from alcanspring.com or deaverspring.com will give you the best ride and flex. Try to stay away from a body lift. But if you must, only go with a 1" (MAX) |

A body lift is cheap and will get you some clearance for those tires. What size tires are on there now 31s?.

Oh, and the rims are nice. Just send them in to get chromed and they will be badass.

i'm pretty sure the tires that are on there now are 265/75-16's. i'm not even in the same state as the truck right now, lol. i'm in texas stuck on an air force base and the truck is at my mom's house in new mexico. i bought it from one of my good friends and my mom and another good friend are going to bring it out here for me. so as soon as i get it i'm gonna be making some mod's and get this thing trail ready!!

Keep the wheels for sure, they are so nice on your taco as is now, I'm sure when you get larger tires, it'll look even better.
For 95.5 tacos, check here: http://www.wheelersoffroad.com/9504tacoma.htm

I have Donahoe 0-3 inch coilovers up front and 1.5 inch greaseable shackles in the rear with stiffer shocks. You can fit 33's max with that setup.
Hoes run about $1000 and shackels and shocks will run you about $250. |

Nice truck bro, you're going to love it! 88k, daaamn,. That truck is just now getting broken in! Theres a ton of information on here about different lifts and suspension set-ups you can do based on what you want.
You will find that header work on a taco is pretty steep price wise because there isn't a whole lot of room to work in there. If you want to spend that kind of money, look in to a good exhaust system, ignition mods (good spark plugs and wires) and a TRD supercharger. If you're feeling really adventurous... you can always SAS
