I just bought some Monroe Sens-a-Trac for my 4wd truck. I am going out to install them in a few minutes and go for a test ride! They have to be a heck of alot better than the Gaberial LT shocks I have had on there for over 2 years! BBL with my thoughts and complaints!

Let us know how they ride. I've always had good luck with them and am getting ready to put a set on my 01 prerunner in about another 10k miles.

I've been riding with my 4runner for almost 1 year equipped with 4 sensatrac shocks and they are awesome.Although i havent tried any other shocks on my truck but i am happy i have monroe shocks when i bought it.

Ok, sorry it took so long getting back. Man what a difference! The other shocks would jar your teeth out of your head and the Monroes just ride right over the bumps and potholes( don't get me wrong it still rides like a truck not a Cadi)but, I dont get thrown thru the windshield every time I hit a slight imperfection in the road! They do fairly decent on the washboard dirt roads and such. I would say it cuts down the jarring effect of pot holes and ruts in the road by 75% or better. Well worth the money spent! 1 ? I have is one of my swaybar end links (passenger side) the washers that hold the rubber cushions in place @ the bottom have some how slid up the endlink and now it very loose, would this cause they ride to be any worst(I know it will allow for more body roll in cornering) but will it affect the ride as far as potholes and bumps are concerned and will it cause the shock to keep going bad on the passenger side(3rd time I have replaced it in 2 years)?

I personally like the ride of my truck without the sway bar.

I just put these Edelbrock IAS shocks on my 94 4x4 PU and was very impressed how smooth they were compared to the PRO-COMPs they replaced. I did also add the ADDCO sway bar kit. The result is a flat cornering quick handeling 4x4 truck that very smooth on pavement and the little bit that I drive offroad is very enjoyable to drive. These shocks handel OFF-ROAD extremely well and I would recommend them to anyone.

I've mostly heard about two brands that people seem to like. Billsteins and Tokico. The Bills are more expensive, $300 a set, and the Tokicos run about $200. Most guys on the 4Runner forums like the Bills best, but the Tokico's are less money and do just fine except in extreme off road apps. I've got about 48K on my 2002 Runner so I'll need shocks soon too. I'll probably end up with the Tokico's. Just my 2 cents worth!
