New Owner - AZ

Just wanted to drop a line and say hello. I just reciently purchased a 2003 SR5 2WD V6. It was produced in May so it has the body colored cladding, which I think looks really well with the white. I am in the Phoenix area and I would like to meet other owners, especially ones with 4th generations that have modified them in any way. So far I really like my 4Runner. My parents have a 2002 and comparing them really shows how much they have changed them. Anyway, for those interested, here is a photo of mine (in case some have not seen the body colored cladding):

Welcome...NW Phx here.

I actually saw a white "sport edition" yesterday with painted flares. Must have been a new one.

No offense, but he'd probably want me to do his audio after seeing you page...I've been doing it professionally for 8 years now, still going strong. I am extremely clean and always great for attention to detail. Ask Pfdaxe, he has seen my system personally, and I'll probably be helping him with new headrest monitors.

Yeah..I'm still gonna be getting those 5.6's. Once I install the headers and recover from that fat price tag

i said i could help if needed anything. thats it, your bringing what i said to a whole new level. I never said i was a professional installer. Never said what i did was perfect. Just can give him alittle help if he needs, if he decides to do anything himself. Thats all. You have to bring it to a personal level and i think your comment was alittle off base. By the way I still havent finished, i dont have a whole lot of time to finish up what i started.

I'm sorry if I came off like a (*^*&^ or anything, really didn't mean to. Just seems like anytime someone asks for help with mods they think they are a professional installer lately and offer to do the system for them. I just thought this was another one of those times...I really am sorry if you took it wrong, I just take installing to the next level that most owners appreciate. I do appreciate you offering your earned knowledge of the '03 'runner to him though. Not many people are just out to offer help, most are trying to make $$ off of it. If you search my name, you'll see I've helped many 'O board member fix electrical problems and I'm all about people learning themselves, but sometimes a pro is what you need.

ive helped a few people with stereos. never do it for money and never say im right. just try to help people when i can. Its a hobby i really enjoy. Ive taken apart most of the interior of my 03. just lending a hand to Skywagon if he wanted. My experience around my local area with car audio shops is they are a bunch of sob's. Not saying you are but from my own experiences ive rather do it myself and i know alot of people are like myself.

Plus i know my system is a mess right now. Im trying to finish up this new fiberglass box so i can get that setup and then clean up all the wiring. Need to get a small piece of carbon fiber for around the head unit to. But the way i have it setup now no one can see my mess. And the point of my website isnt to show off, its just to give people ideas. They dont have to do all the bull˟˟˟˟˟ i already did, they can expand past it.

Man, I did not expect to raise a debate about car audio installers. As far as the system for my 4Runner, I have it already on the shelf. It will consist of Boston Pro components and 2 10's, Phoenix Gold EQs, and I am not sure which amps I will use. I have a Kenwood Excelon Z828 but I might make use of the double din hole for a car PC setup (touchscreen).

As far as my location, I am in the Gilbert/Chandler area.

Btw, my 4Runner does have the cladding, it is just body-colored and smooth (fiberglass?).
