New member of the YotaTech family
Finally! After 10 months of searching, I finally found the truck I was looking for. I wasn't sure which way to go in but you guys nudged me in the right direction.

Just picked up a 3rd gen SR5 - red on moonmist blue/grey. It's a base model like I wanted; no bells and whistles. It has 290K Km on it but it runs really well. No rust on the body other than minor bubbles on the rear hatch. Sufrace rust on the frame, peeling undercoating but nothing major. I will clean up the frame and take it to Krown to get it sprayed this weekend. I am really surprised at how peppy the 2.7l engine is. It needs a tune up as the HC numbers on the emissions test were higher than I wanted (still under the limit), so this weekend will involve replacing fluids and plugs. This is my first truck so I am quite excited. At first I wasn't sure about the red colour but it's growing on me. Some elbow grease and Meguiars should bring back the shine. My only concern is a cracked manifold. l've always found yota engines to be loud so I am kind of scared to check the manifold to see if its just the loud engine or if there really is a crack in there. I am known to be quite paranoid when it comes to cars.
Just wanted to share the good news as I am excited to be a part of the Yota-Tech family.

Where are you located? I recognise that truck. It could either the exact truck I'm thinking about or one that looks Exactly like it. Congrats and welcome either way.

Hey, I am in Brampton as well What a small world.
You might have seen the ad for it on Kijiji. It was being sold by a very small dealership in Etobicoke.

Nice lookin truck..
Deff check the manifold as most if not all are cracked, get on the list.
A member here (Deathcougar) who works at a wrecking yard (Nix99) in washington sells a 01-04 mini headers from the 2.7's when they re-designed manifolds..
I actually just had to pick one up..
Anyway, Welcome to YotaTech !!

You need to get to know Shane at Toyworks in Orangeville... just about the best wrench around for our trucks... he's a member here but does'nt have time to surf much... lol... here's his contact info 519-938-9844 tell him you were talking to Paul from the airport... he's worth the trip only about 30 mins from brampton.
