new member!-97 lava runner 4x4
Hi folks. Nice to be part of this great forum! We,ll, were still proud owners of a 1997 4-runner and it's been trouble free, strong, and so reliable for the past years of ownership. I have nothing to complain about this vehicle at all!! We live in Hawaii, ( the volcanic Isle ), and there's lots of lava here that would love to eat any tire ever invented by modern man. We take our 4-runner & p/u truck, ( we also own a 85 toyota 4x4, lifted, some goodies ), & go camping & fish at these lava cliffs for large jack trevally's. Unfortunatly, devlopment & construction forces us to camp & fish much further out at more rougher trails & harsh terrian. So we've done some mods to our runner to conquer the obstacles. We've did the lift, the tires, ect., & it gets us there. We hope to have some pics soon. Anyhow, enough for now. Aloha!

Yeah, welcome to this great place. It is nice of you to be here. We do a program here called "Get-A-Way" where the new people put up the money to fly everyone to where they live for a weeks visit. So that would be 100 or so tickets to Hawaii! Or, if you want to, just fly me...I won't tell anyone...LOL...just messing. Anyway, it is good of you to be here and we can't wait to see any pictures if you have them. Have fun and enjoy! :fireman:

I gotta know what tires you like and what "goodies" are on the '85? If I knew what I know now when I bought mine i'd have gotten an '85 instead of an '87. IFS sucks.

Met some good friends already!
Thank's for the welcome good people!! Hey, but there's some bad people out there that just don't care. My wife took the runner to wal-mart, did some shopping & came back out to find some fresh door dings from some idiots car! ?$#@*???!!..... I'm a believer that what comes around/goes around..... Anyway, "gotta move-on". I have a couple questions hope some one can answer. 1). Has any body purchased a centerforce clutch kit for their 4-runner? We're getting ready to change ours, so some feed back would help. 2). Pedal pressure. I was told centerforce II is the ideal clutch to have. But pedal pressure would be an issue since my wife drives the vehicle to work. Any suggestions is helpful....
Thanks & Aloha! Mike
