Hey everyone,

In the beginning of this winter I had to cancel a trip to the snow because of a storm, and sold my Civic the following week. It got replaced by this 2000 4Runner LTD (pictured after the first trip to the snow):



I've only had it for a couple months, and I absolutely love it!

Current mod list is short - a K&N drop in, and a Thule snowboard rack. However, I am planning on doing a 2" OME kit, and a rear disc brake conversion. I did pretty much everything by myself on the civic (including an engine swap and a rear disc conversion), so I am looking forward to learning about a whole new vehicle and how to mod it.

So, after lurking around for a month or so, I finally set aside some time to join, and am really glad to find out that there is a knowledgeable board out there for Toyotas (I frequented honda-tech.com and clubsi.com when I had the civic). You guys have a great site, and I'm glad to become a member.

Welcome to the forum!!! Wow, you have a nice rig. I like that two tone color. Do you have the electric locking differential in there?

There is a Lock Rear Differential button on the dash. The sales rep at the dealer told me to only use it when "in trouble", and need to climb out of deep snow/mud at under 3mph. Is that what you're referring to?

I know all about expensive modding habits. By the time I sold my civic, it had about $8k of mods on it, and that's the lowest estimate I could come up with (never actually brought myself down to counting the receipts).

I'm going to do some research before I start modding, but the things that I definitely want to take care of are the 2" lift, and the rear disc conversion. Brakes are the only component that I don't really like, so that will probably be the first project.

And yes, the truck is green (and gray on the bottom).

Nice looking rig! If you know what a limited slip is, consider a locker to be that, except that once you engage it, it's permanently engaged until you press the button again. Just guarrantees you 3 wheels driving when you're in 4wd and have it engaged. (the front is an open diff)
