New Here

Hey guys im new here and i have a few questions.

What should i do to my Toyota? its a 1990 4x4 Pickup and i have done little things to it but heres a picture. The only thing wrong with it is: Its slow, needs a lift (any suggestions?) and the tranny needs to be rebuilt.

man that is one nice truck. is the lift needed just to clear the tires? it looks like they clear fine.. but if they dont get a roger brown body lift. search for 4crawler on here.

as for power, what engine do you have? search for the deckplate mod, also a new catback exhuast.

oh yeah welcome to the forum

first thing, ditched that canopy. I'll bite the bullet and take it off your hands and keep myself from making a tubed flat bed.

If you run a search for lifts you'll find plenty of info to grab from. What engine are you running, 22re or 3.0? Either one isn't gonna be fast but some aftermarket headers, exhaust and doing the "deckplate" mod would help, also regear if your tires aren't stock height as well.

Welcome to the board, plenty of info and knowledgable guys and girls here. Nice truck too btw.

Im impartial to the canopy. Im running the 22re engine. Ill have to do a search unless someone wants to be real nice and hook me up with a link.

The tires are 33's. rims are 15x10 American Racing (forget the name)

yes i do.

I also added A/C. That probably slowed it down as well as the tires.

all results for "lifts"
https://www.yotatech.com/search.php?searchid=1089374

deckplate mod (same thing for your truck)
https://www.yotatech.com/~corey/tech.../deckplate.htm

also, with 33's, you might want to think about 4.88 gears

Wow! $2500?!?! Here in upstate NY that would go for double that! We have tons of salt on the roads in the winter so something looking that good is hard to find. You can actually hear the vehicles rusting here!

LMAO!!! Know what you mean! I lived in Michigan years ago and my Camaro would leave an outline of the frame in rust particles when I slammed the door!

Nice truck, samcarroll, and welcome to the site.

Exactly! My poor 4Runner got to that point. It was the worst one I've seen in my area. So I stripped it down, as much as possible, and started grinding, chipping, wire-wheeling. I still have mcu to do. I coated the frame with Rust Bullet and it seems to be living up to it's promise of no rust for 10 years. Yesterday I had to rebuild the front cross member. It just doesn't end...
