new chrome bumper
hey guys, I need to replace the front end of my 00 runner but I've heard bad things about aftermarket chrome. If anyone's bought an aftermarket chrome bumper that has held up and hasn't rusted can you send me a link to where you got it?
And if they just plain suck and I need to get an OEM bumper can anyone give me a reliable link to oem parts. seems like there's a lot of sites out there that claim oem but they're really not.
Thanks a lot guys, and happy holidays!

Aftermarket bumpers are cheaper, thinner metal, and plated once.
Toyota bumpers use a completely different plating process, and the chrome is much thicker and more durable. All the aftermarket companies use the same cheap process, and the bumpers are flimsy and sharp.
OEM bumpers are smooth, shiny, and you cant see any lines in the chrome like on aftermarket bumpers.

wow thanks guys, you've been more than helpful! yeah that's what I hear deathcougar. I think I'll buy the valance and bumper filler aftermarket tho b/c they're just plastic. I can't imagine they would be too chinsy. But if the plastic aftermarket bumper pieces suck too then let me know.
