Need some horn help.

Heading for inspection with the 85 4Runner in the morning but my horn sounds REAL low. If I directly connect it to the battery it's loud so somewhere i have a bad connection?? or maybe a relay is bad??

Thanks in advance.

I unplugged/removed the horn and did a quick clean of the plug... then cleaned up the horns terminals and ground/bolt. Also cleaned the fuse on the passenger side fenderwell. Still no louder.

Try cleaning the slip ring on your steering coloum. But you have to pull the steering wheel to do it.

Well I failed inspection for the horn today and a tinted drivers window...so I'll look into the slip ring as well as trace all the wiring.
