Need some help with a rattling noise
I searched all the threads I can find and none of the rattling symptoms seem to be the same. My last rattling was in the rear and ended up being a loose bolt on my rear swaybar.
My new rattling sounds similar to a penny in a jar and it seems to rattle lightly as I'm driving and then gets pretty lound and rattles a lot any time I hit a bump. From what I can tell it seems to be coming from the front drivers side area. I've shaken everything I can think of and cant seem to reproduce a the rattle unless I'm actually driving it around.
Any Ideas? What does a shot bearing sound like? I'm hoping its nothing too critical because it seems everything needs changed on my vehicle at once. My muffler has a huge rust hole in it, my clutch is going out, the last time I got an alignment the guy told me he stripped the adjuster nut thing on my tie rod, and now I may have something else going on... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the input but that was one of the possibilities I found and checked. I may end up checking it again in hopes that it will alleviate at least some of the rattling. Thanks again for the link though, I really appreciate that people actually take the time to help.

AHA!!!
No more rattling HOORAY!!!!
So it finally got to the point that I couldnt take it anymore. To actually hear it while I was outside I had to kick the tire really hard. I got a friend to kick the tire while I felt around to see if there was anything jiggling to match the sound... narrowed it down to the nut on top of the shock. I guess it hat just loosened over the last year or so to where the rubber bushing under the washer isnt doing much. So the nut kept lifting off the washer and then sitting back down on it... so any time I would hit even the smallest bump it would rattle up and down a couple times. I tightened it down and now the rattle is gone. Shew!
