Have you got all the bolts off the bellhousing, or in other words can you tilt/rotate the tranny side to side yet? Are you supporting the tranny and engine so that they're lined up and it's not binding on the input shaft? When you remove the tranny the engine will want to rotate back and hit the firewall, put a floorjack or stack some wood under the oilpan to support it. Are you pulling hard enough? Shifters out?

Thanks for the help,
I found another bolt by the starter, so I was able to get the tranny seperated, but now the transfer case shifter is in the way. How do I remove the shifters?
Thanks.

Transfercase shifter can be removed by pulling up the small rubber boot and remove the snapring holding it to the plate. IIRC the transmission shifter is either a push and turn deal or 4 screws depending on which tranny you have.

Shane,
Thanks for all the help, I am now on the return swing. Gave up tonight after I tightened all the bolts and noticed the clutch alignment tool was crooked. Started to loosen all to move it and was getting anemia from the skeeters. So.........tommorrows a new day. Thanks again.
