Need Pics of 3rd Gen 4Runner with 255/85's
Anyone running a 255/85-16 on a 3rd Gen 4Runner? I don't have any flares, and think the 255/85 will sit flush with the fenders. Just looking for pictures before I make any decisions.
Thanks in advance.

PO2SIMS,
I checked out your page. Do you have any pictures that show the tire to fender relationship? The one from the rear really doesn't show it that well. Or, could you just describe it? Are the tires flush with the fender or are they set in a little from the fender?

Nice looking 4Runner BTW.

It looks factory. From the back the tires stick out 1/2" to the side of the mudflap, if that helps. I plan on putting in LC coils in this weekend, so look for some pics of that. I got the really long ones, so I'll see if it works.

Anyway, I'd like to go taller and wider than what I have but don't want to rub or do much trimming. I have 265/75/16 tires on a 16x8 wheel. I have about 2.5 inches of lift. If I went to a 285/70/16 tire (if it exists), would this be almost the same size tire I'm running now?

It is all a percentage of the numbers. A 265/70 and 285/70 are very different in width. Granted, maybe overall, .75" but thats a bunch in tire width. Check this out:

It's confusing, but that second link helps figure out how much less space you have between sizes. Hope that helps!!
