Need a part number asap!!!

I got a 1996 3.4 supercharged tacoma 5 speed.everyone tells me i need to go buy the 1997 ecu but everywhere i call give me a different parts number.does anyone have the part number to the ecu i need??or better yet does anyone have one for sale near louisiana??

Have you tried calling the Toyota dealership? If anyone knows the right part number it's them!

That's because there are 2 part numbers. One for VZN160 models(w/5VZ-FE, 5 speed MTM, Regular cab), and one for VZN170 models(w/5VZ-FE, 5 speed MTM, Extra cab)

ENGINE CONTROL COMPUTER 89661-04300 1996.09-1997.06 VZN160
Replaced by: 89661-04300-84

ENGINE CONTROL COMPUTER 89661-04310 1996.09-1997.06 VZN170..R
Replaced by: 89661-04310-84

The numbers they gave me was 72-1660 and 72-0001

Those are A1 Cardone part numbers, not Toyota OE.

Cardone ECU to 1997 Tacoma P/N: Click on Engine Control Computers

With a VIN I can look up the part in the toyota parts catalog and you can get the correct cardone part.

I dont have a vin on a 97 bc my truck in a 96...imma try the parts number mudhippy gave me

bigcat. do not waste your time and money on a 97 ecu. you NEED to replace your knock sensor first.

What would be the cause of my truck running really lean?? Or could that also be knock sensor
