Need more lights
I have a 94 4runner and I would like to put either some fog or driving lights to better my night driving. What would you all suggest and can you post some pics? Also this my be a stupid question, but are you allowed to drive with low beams and driving lights on city roads? Thanks

i have 2 150Watt KC pensil beam on top of my roof rack. although its illegal to have any lights uncovered above the center of the headlights i have never had a problem with them. and i use them all the time, i just use them like high beams, and turn them off if a car is coming. heres my write up on how i installed them http://www1.pacific.edu/~c-eaklan/4r...htwrite-up.htm

I ran 4 kc 150 watt lights for years. They are good lights. I have since become partial to PIAA. My next purchase will be PIAA 525's. I have destroyed and rebuilt my PIAA 90's more than once. It's time to get something mounted a little higher.

i love the quality of PIAAs. I dont believe you are allowed to drive with those lights on, but you probably want to check your local law about that. I have the PIAA 520s on my shopping cart guard and absolutley love them. they are 85 Watts.

fog lights have a short/wide beam... driving lights have a longer/narrow beam - know which you want as they serve different purposes.
Check with your local laws to be sure, but I know in my area, driving lights are to be used like high beams... fine to run them when alone on the road, but turn them off if there is on coming traffic. Fog lights are fine all the time. Any light over 60w is illegal, and there is a max heigh you can mount lights (anything higher than that is illegal to use on roads), but I don't know what that height is.
Good brands are Hella, Piaa, Lightforce, KC, and IPF. Any light from those brands will probably be fine... just gotta decide on the beam pattern and the physical size of the lamp.
I run Hella lights on my truck - I've got 2 sets of fog lights (one set of FF75s and one set of 500s) and 3 sets of driving lights (two sets of 500s and one set of Rallye 4000s). I think Hella is the best value out there... good performance, good build quality, reasonable price.
