Need lift opinions please!

Hey all,

I've got a 97 4runner that has had the rear spring recall done a year or more ago, so truck's suspension should be nice and settled now.

I picked up a used set of 2" cornfed rear spacers and now need to get some for the front.

My question is: the truck is about 1/2" higher in the back now than in the front (measuring from wheel rim to the edge of the fender on all 4 wheels).

I'm trying to decide do I get some 2" front spacers and keep the 1/2" difference as is, or do get some 2 1/2" ones and level it out? I carry light to medium loads occasionally, but never tow with it. Any advice or suggestions are most appreciated.

Hope this makes sense to everyone and thanks for the help!

Have a great week,
Chris

get some adjustables like SAWs, Bilsteins, or Kings and you can adjust it the way you like, 1/2" or no 1/2".

As for the 1/2" it's your personal preference. You could go with 2" daystars, 2" cornfeds, or even just go with OME lift spring/shock combo for the front. I personally wouldn't level it out just in case the rear does sag a bit, then your back to the saggy-ness. I would try and get rid of the spacers you got and maybe get some rear lift coils like some downey's or OME's, the cost is about the same as the blocks cost you and that will allow you to add shims or spacers to get more rear height if needed. if you lift with blocks to begin with you won't be able to add anymore because it's not safe.

hope that helps.

I suggest the 2.5" Daystar Kit...Half in the strut, half on top. A wise man once said its a pretty good set-up for a spacer, and you can't beat the price ~$100. They usually give just under 2.5" of lift...Should keep you nice and even, with maybe a slight rake.

A 1/2" won't matter. You'll barely notice it.
