Need help troubleshooting
I’m on my way back home to Maine and was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on a problem that has come up with the truck. About two weeks ago the truck started doing what I would call a hic-up while running. It hesitates for a second, then everything is normal. This was maybe once a day. Then it happened and the motor stopped running. Pulled to the side of the road, it started right back up and ran like nothing happened. In SLC it died again, but this time I pumped the gas pedal and it would stay running, poorly, as long as I quickly pumped the gas. Today on my way to Denver it started to do the hic-up thing, and continued doing it every few minutes for the whole day. It never stopped running completely. Seems to do it when coasting and accelerating. Anyone had this happen to them, or know what is happening? I still have a long way to drive to get home and would love to fix this if it’s something relatively simple. I have an idea what it might be but want a second or third opinion. Thanks for any insight.

Clean the throttle body and change the fuel filter to see if that doesn't help.
If you are able then change all the typical tune up parts just to be sure.
Tough to do on the road though.

Check if you have air leaks in your air-intake pipes. I had the same problem which turned out to be a loose hose causing the computer to shutdown the engine.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did have a cracked vacuum hose when I did a quick check about a week ago, I'll look again to see if there is a second one or if my first fix is loose. If it is elevation related, I guess I'm in luck, as it's all downhill from here. Snowy, flat, boring Nebraska here I come.
