Need help with tranny/clutch/oil pan
So I had a leaking rear main seal on my 94 pickup (3.0). I also had a clutch that needed replacing.
I'v been working at this with a buddy all day. Managed to take everything off. And thats where I quit for the day. I have some questions that need answering by tommorow morning.
1. What would be the best tool to use to pull the old pilot bearing out?
2. I had to take the oil pan of to take the cover that the rear main seal is atched to off. What is the best thing to use to clean the old seal of the oil pan and block?
3. I notice that there is a metal shim between the oil pan and block at the rear. Does it continue around the entire oil pan flange? Does it have to come out? Can it?
4. Is RTV sealant ok to use to seal the oil pan back in?
Thanks for any help.

to get teh pilot bearing out, here's an old trick. fill the hole with grease, and the get your clutch alignment tool or similar size dowel. put the tool in the hole, and tap it with a hammer. the grease will push the pilot bearing right out.
