need help making decisions on some mods??

Have a few things to do the 4runner very soon. First of all, when I receive my 99 rear tall coils, those will b going on with a front 1.5" daystar spacer for the front. Im on a small budget so I think for me this would be the best option. Im 99% street driven so I think this would ride well for the family(i have 3 boys under 5). I dont want a firm like like ome will provide since I dont offroad. Also since the 1.5" lift spacer is top mount it wont compress my stock springs. I need help deciding on my running boards? cant ride with nothing since my wife wants something there for the kids and herself. Option 1: keep stock boards on. Option 2: Nerf Bars (since these would provide a step and they sit higher than boards ultimately making my runner look a lil higher. Option 3: ?? Im not welding on anything either/got to be able to bolt on if it needs to come off. Another decision? since i need to put on the front spacer I might as well change the front shocks since it would be a good time as I don't know how old the ones are i have there. i bought the vehicle about 4yrs ago and on it are kyb shocks. Any ideas?? want a shock to give me a good solid comfy ride for the street for a reasonable price. Thats my situation. Any ideas, opinions, help would be awesome. When i do all the mods i will def take b4 and after pics. later all.

yea im leaning towards nerf but man the wife likes the running boards..im torn. i think ill get the lift on then see how it looks. i told her i wanted no boards or anything. she said "i don't think so"....i heard mixed feelings about 881/906 ome but its outta my budget anyways. i like the setup im thinking about, think it works for us. thanks

Get some sliders and tell her they are running boards. You can even put some grip tape on the top side.

X2. Don't ugly it up with nerf bars. You can even have sliders fabbed up cheap and just drill a few holes in your frame and viola removable!

I agree with ^99runner^ that OME is not so bad dust get the medium and you would get the ride and shocks at the same time... the firm are for double cabs and 4runners but the medium should be good for your specs!! I do have an extra cab with the firm and it is a touch stiff, however with the added weight you have on your truck especially if you have a 5vz then it would not be so stiff.

I feel similar about the running boards nerf would be kinda "gross" good sliders or stock look better. if you really want her to look taller put some larger wheels on her even if it is just tire size...

I would suggest either way you go get a nice set of shocks that ride good, such as all OME or Bilstein ...
