Need help locating temp/oil sending units(22RE)
Can anyone help me locate the temp and oil pressure sending units on my 22RE?? I am adding some new gauges and want to do it correctly. I have a Chilton manual, but the pics are pretty vague.
I think the oil sending unit is right under the oil filter. I really don't know about the temp sending unit.
I took some pics if they will help. Maybe someone can look at them and see if I'm in the right area...or perhaps someone could explain to me where they are located.

Thanks for the help...I am at a standstill on this one.

Not sure why the other is not working. I am pretty sure I have the right locations. My kit (Sunpro) came with new sending units, but they are not metric. I need to buy standard to metric crossovers for them to fit.
Dajabr, I am not doing a cluster swap, I am adding a pillar mount pod and putting oil press, water temp, and a voltmeter in it. I am also going to mount a 2 5/8 tach but not sure where to put it. I still need to locate that link for the pillar pod for you. Have to go run arounde with the wife today, hopefully I can find it tonight for you. The pillar pod is WAY cool. Hold 2 1/16" gauges...plenty big since they are real close to you.
Thanks....AkBillyBow

I ended up finding a SR5 cluster on ebay for $30 so am going to go that way. I'm big on maintaining stock arrangements for resale even though I have no plans to sell it. The pillar gaugae was an option for a while, but the low price on the cluster changed my mind. Now just gotta hope it works...

Good luck with the cluster. I spent ALL DAY trying to locate some sending unit adapters to convert my new units from standard to metric. What a pain!! One downside of living in Alaska...not too many places to 'shop around'.
Needless to say I didn't get my gauges done yet. Definately have it finished by the end of the weekend!!
I'm not worried about resale, I'm going to run it set up how I want it. I will be the last owner of this Runner. I figure I will be buried in it...like a 4X4 casket....They can remove the top for the viewing then bolt 'er back on before they bury me in it
