97 v6 4x4 4runner it has 265-70-16's on it now and was looking to get 31's or bigger if possible. no lift of anykind and he wants no rubbing.

If you want no chances of rubbing with the mud flaps still on, the 265-70-16 (31x10.50)is the largest. You can do a 32" tire 265/75/16 but he will have to remove the front mud flaps and the tire will rub the frame at full turn, but only slightly. Keep in mind this is with factory wheels or 4.5" Back spacing on aftermarket wheels.

Hope this helps

I have a 96 4runner v6 4x4 and i run the 265-75-16. I have no rubbing isues whatsoever. He'll be fine with the 265-75-16 with no mods.
