Not that I know of. That's the year they went to the Tuppaware front bumper and 1.5" longer leaf springs. Other than that, just subtle interior changes. That's also the year they lengthened the A/C line alieviating the body lift blowing the A/C condesor line delima. Should be a good solid truck. It's weak point is the R&P steering but it's not problematic.

Might be too late, but...I have a '98 non-TRD. No major problems that I am aware of. Mine's never broken down (it now has 111k...BTW, 60k is cherry for a truck that age
Does it have the manual hubs?

Bought it! Seats were still damp from the detailer's shop!
nope, it's hub challenged...but,
We got lucky - It's the proverbial non smoker, SR5/TRD, Arizona rust free, low mile, old dude's truck - he bought it new in May of 98, traded it in for a '05 on Friday. It has documents verifying the 8750 mile annual average! Highest yearly total was 9300+. Super clean, no dents, dings, or even a scratch on the front/tranny/tranfercase skid plates or rear diff housing.
Been scrounging the AutoTrader, Cars.com, and Prescott/Phoenix/Tucson papers for 6 weeks waiting for the right rig to show up...

Sweet Mark! I had a 98 Limited TRD. It was a great truck, and I probably never should have sold it. One of the few problems that these can have is a leaky waterpump seal. My 98 had that problem at 33K miles and the shop foreman said it was pretty common on the 3.4.
Can't wait to see it.

Since it's a TRD am I right in assuming that it has the best little button to the left of the steering wheel?
That's awesome milage, kinda like my 93 Runner when I bought it. I bought it in July of 2003 and it only had 69,xxx miles on it.

Yeah, sold the trailer and big block tow rig- it was using $55.00 a week in fuel as a daily driver. Figured I'd better sell it before the price of gas gets any higher...
Might even sell the Sloyota crawler- haven't decided yet. It just costs to much to run the hard core stuff, and it's overbuilt for the easy stuff...
