Need Advice by 5:00 mountain time!

Hello Everyone,
Im new to this site and am in need of some serious advice. I would like to know how much a 85, ext cab, 110K, AC, SR5, PS, truck is worth? The cab forward is in great shape with a few dings here and there, the bed is in need of replacement. The truck is pretty much stock. Interior will need to be replaced in total. The glass is good all around. I have been looking for a clean 85 for a while and they are hard to come by. My plans are to build a dual purpose rig and keep it forever. My other option is to buy a clean clean 88 ext cab and work from there. I can buy the 85 for 3000 and the 88 for about 5000. The 88 is much cleaner outside and inside (base model) and it does NOT have A/C. Please advise..

I think that sounds like too much for either of them. You can get a pretty decent early-90s pickup for 5 grand here. I don't know about where you are, though.

Yea, 5gs for an 88 is a lot. I got my 91 with 150K for 5,000 2 years ago. As for your wrecked truck, It will likely be next to impossable to get any money out of it. I would sugest that you repair it your slef. I would be surprised if anyone woud give even close to a grand for it regaurdless of the condition of everything else. As my dad used to tell me, never sell something that is broken becaues you will just have to give it away. You might even be better off fixing it and selling it after that.

thanks for the help

Hey,
Thanks for the help. Well the 85 does drive, its just a beater with a good driveline and cab forward. I should have been more clear in asking but Should i buy this 85 x-cab for 3K and fix it because it has low miles, is in decent shape, except for the bed, and is a straight front, or should I keep looking? thanks
