My next mod... Headers...

Hi all,

I've been thinking of my next mod for my 2000 SR5 4Runner and I was thinking of upgrading the headers.
What do you recommend???
I'm looking at the TRD headers part #PTR10-89990-07.
Does anyone here have any experience with these???

TIA,

maguirre

Are you supercharged? Not really worth the hassle on our N/A engine. Spend your $$ elsewhere and keep searching.

save your money for a SC or something. If it's one thing I've learned about our N/A engines their is not really all that much you can do to gain a high amount of horsepower unless you add a SC. AND there is not much you can do to gain alot of extra mpg either haha

Order of spending IMHO would go like this:
1) SC & fuel mods
2) smaller pulley for more boost
3) water/meth injection
4) then if any money is left, headers

took me 10 hours to remove my trd headers on my 2002 taco, replace all the gaskets and put them back on without any instructions. Major pain in the butt to do. I wouldnt do it again!! I have a supercharger thats why i have the headers.

headers

I will soon be putting headers on my NA 4runner. actually replacing entire exhaust system. but I also plan on supercharging my truck in the future. My exhaust is leaking so I am doing everything at once. got my trd headers on ebay 450 shipped cant beat that. it will be a pain in the ass but worth it if you plan on sc your 4runner.

I've run my 4R in both configs: NA with headers and SC'd with headers. NA with headers was a complete waste of time and money.

So I guess that's like x8, LOL.

If you were going to get headers--the ceramic Doug Thorleys are awsome--high quality. I am NA--but i have a semi built motor--cams, high flow valves--little block stuffs...etc..Its fun . but i too may be thinking about a doing some mild SC'ing on my rig. Monies tight though........
