Question Is my fuel pressure regulator supposed to do this?

I've suspected my fuel pressure regulator of being faulty ever since I swapped my injectors. So I unplugged the vacuum hose from it and took it for a drive to see what it would do. Much to my suprise, it had NO effect on how the vehicle ran and drove (except for the slight increase in idle from the vacuum leak). Is this correct? I thought for sure it would have problems getting up in the rpms but it didn't. I'm stumped.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Was there actual gas or fliud coming out of the hose when you took it off? If there was then your fpr is broke. When the fpr becomes defective it shoots the gas back into the manifold thru the vaccuum line. Check your fuel filter it might just be a little clog.

No there was no fuel coming out of it.

The reason I ask is that my fuel system was subjected to some high pressures of about 75psi during a botched-up fuel system cleaning. The result is a hesitation only after the vehicle has ran and then cooled to a certain temp. My TPS is adjusted correctly, fuel filter has been replaced, injectors swapped, and fuel system cleaner has been used with no luck.

Can someone with a 3.0 unplug the vacuum hose on their fuel pressure regulator and take a quick drive and let me know what happens? It would be VERY much appreciated.

Thanks
