My 93 Runner is dead
my 93 4runner has 165,000 on it and I think it's finally had it. It lost all power and wont start, the 3rd cylinder spark plug is covered in oil and I dried it off and tried to resart it and it was covered agian. I mosst likely lost a piston ring or valve seal. I dont know whether to rebuild it, or swap, maybe a 4.3, I need some advice.

I'd swap in a 3.4 5VZFE, it'd be pretty straight forward, and a S/C could be fitted in the future.
I got a free ATK engine installed because a tire place ruined the old one, anyways, it was ~$4700 to have the new one installed at the dealer, with 3 yr unlimited mileage marranty.

Pretty straight forward because it will mate up to existing trans, and uses motor mounts and oil pan and oil pickup tube from 3vze. I think I remember reading a lift being needed for clearance.
I still think it'd be easier than swapping to a non-toyota engine, agreed?

It all depends on what engine/tranny he has now as to how straight forward it is. 3VZ to 5VZ is easier than 22re to 5VZ. Manual tranny easier than auto.
