My 2nd Gen is on 33's finally!

Hey guys! Been a while since I posted. I just got back from the Middle East and had a pile of mods waiting. Spent 3 days putting on my 2" BL and fixing a few other odds and ends. Had to totally refabricate my receiver hitch and push bar. Battery cables were too short but just had to ditch the stock bracket down on the frame. Other than that it was pretty simple. I'm lucky to have an awesome welder/fabricator as a dad. I couldn't have done this without him that's for sure! He did the shifters and everything for me. Tires are BFG A/T's 33X12.50's on 15X8 inch American Racing wheels and I have NO rubbing issues at all. Even at full stuff the clearance is fine. Thing looks mean now and you can definately tell it's not stock anymore. It rides quite a bit smoother as well. Power decrease is noticeable but not nearly as bad as I expected. 4.88 gears are coming in a couple weeks. I took it wheeling on Saturday and was BLOWN away by how much better it is. Things I would have dragged on before I drove right over easily. Also having that much BFG on the ground will take you into some pretty hairy places!

I also have my Stubbs sliders all ready to go but didn't like the way the rattle can paint came out so going to check on getting them powdercoated.

Overall I'm really happy with how the Runner looks and rides now. I think it looks better then the ones I've seen with a 4" suspension lift and 33's because of how the tires fit the wells. I'll post a picture hopefully tonite when my dad sends me the pics he took.

Cebby I did some measuring and the top the rack is the same height as the door. The lowest part of the opening is the rubber seal that keeps water from running in under the door. I think maybe that the rack will just slide along that... going to be awfully close though.....

Okay okay.....here are a couple of pics. It's hard to tell it's lifted without having something to compare size to. I parked next to a stock one today with 225's on it and I had at least 5" on them. Oh ya good news I can still park in my garage. It fits under the doorway with about 1/16" to spare

Right after this pic was taken I fell down almost. It was the first time I had gotten out of it and did my normal routine but the ground wasn't there....

What do you think of our backyard???

Well there you go.. Thanks again go out to my Dad..couldn't of done it without him.

Guys I went with a 2" BL from Performance Accessories. It was a great kit and came with everything needed. Installation is pretty straightforward. The instructions are very thorough. Only hit a couple of snags with brackets and things like that but I have seen that on every body lift I've seen. I have zero rubbing issues with only having 2". A 4" suspension lift would be nice but when you compare prices the BL is REALLY nice. $110 compared to $1000 + installation. Scofco I like my Yak Rack. To be honest I haven't really used it much yet. I bought it mostly to haul camping gear on and stuff since I travel around alot flying and racing motorcycles.

That's one wicked 4Runner. Love the Mts. in the photo - If I did not live at the beach I would live in a place like that. 90' and sunny today - water temp. 75'
Flori-duh is getting kind of boring.

Good job!

Looking good Joey. The other advantage of doingthe BL is that you don't stiffen up the stock suspension to the point of it not flexing well anymore.
