From a friend of mine on another forum....
I had some time this weekend to try out my new Mr Clean Auto Dry unit that I received for Father's Day. I read through the entire directions first, assembled the unit and backed my truck out of the garage.
Temperature - 70 degrees
Skies - overcast, rain previously in the day, no sun
Wind - light, barely noticeable
In other words, almost IDEAL conditions for this thing to work. The directions say to do small sections of the car at a time, which I did. You first wet the car down with regular water, then switch over to soap and soap it up. Then you rub your sponge all over it to lift the dirt and wipe the soap all over the surface since it has some sort of sheeting element in it (you must use their soap). Then you switch to rinse and rinse off the soap, then switch to de-ionized water and rinse again with deionized water to prevent spotting.
To be fair, on glass this worked quite well, there was no spotting on the glass. However, on other horizontal surfaces like the hood especially, there was still spotting. The spots weren't as "white" as regular spots but had I not brought out the towel before all the water evaporated off the hood there would have been spots. My 3M Clear Bra also seemed to spot worse than the paint which is odd since both are protected with multiple coats of Zaino.
I know some people have said that this thing strips your wax, but I still have plenty of Zaino on the car because it really beaded up, even the deionized water beaded up on the Zaino.
So I don't know if my results were caused by the Zaino, or caused by the water in our area or just that the unit doesn't work quite as advertised but my results were less than perfect.
Now the question is, would it reduce drying time enough to continue using it? For me, probably not and here's why:
1) It makes your sponge dirtier so you have to spend some time cleaning your sponge more than you otherwise would, this cuts into the drying time.
2) I use one of those California Water Blades after a wash a car to instantly blade the water off the car then follow up with towels to get the spots I missed.
So I see the time factor as pretty much a "wash" - pun intended. Where this might come in handy would be in a sunny situation where I couldn't wash/blade fast enough to prevent spotting, maybe the Mr Clean Auto Dry would buy me some more time, I don't know. It did, as I said above, make the glass come out perfect without any wiping necessary.
Hope this helps those thinking about buying a unit or using one.

I have good luck with mine. I use it to fill a bucket full of the soap and wash from out of it. I have city water and make serveral passes with the filtered water.

There is no Conspriacy, they are all in it together.
I use a bucket, sponge and some towels, seems to work well. Oh yea, and Palmolive dishwashing soap, if its gentle enough for your hands, its gentle enough for your Taco!!!
