Moving on up
I'm considering selling my '94 4Runner and trying to get a '96 2WD V6 4Runner. I remember seeing a page stating which trim level had what options. To all you who shame me for getting 2wd, I almost never drive off road, and it'll weigh less which results in better gas mileage, its a worth while trade off to me. The only thing I'll really miss about the 2nd gen is the tailgate, but the better looking front end, back end, and engine make up for it. Also any recommendations where to look for cars and what I can expect to pay?

I just traded in my '91 SR5 4WD 4Runner for a '98 SR5 2WD 4Runner last week. I'll have to tell you, i thought i was gonna miss my tailgate also, but i've actually enjoyed the lift gate (it's convenient while loading stuff in the rain). I also went with 2WD instead of 4WD which i actually do miss from my '91, but i really don't need it and it doesn't really snow that much down here to justify it. I will say that the 3.4 is a monster compared to the 3.slow...i can't believe i didn't trade up sooner. All i have to say about your car search is to be sure and try to sell your '94 and not trade it in. They're just not getting good trade in values right now, but of course when do they? I traded mine because it had quite a few probs and i didn't feel right selling it (might as well let the stealership deal with it). Good Luck in your search!

It's a 1994 SR5 4wd V6 Manual. A/C. Navy Blue. Aftermarket Goodyear Tires (31s) I can give you exact model and size of tires if you want. Car runs great. I've had the front brakes replaced about 4 years ago. Transmission rebuilt 2 years ago. I can find receipts for the work if you want. 135k miles. Has some slight body damage (parking lot dings and stuff) and the right front axle needs to be rebooted. I'm going to fix all this. Has a panasonic aftermarket head unit. I installed an aftermarket amplified stubby antenna. I'll take some pics tomorrow. Anymore questions feel free to ask.
