Thumbs up More "stuff" added to the truck...

Yep.. in my never ending race to fill my 4Runner with anything I could possiably ever need.... Check out this sweet assortment!!

The stray orange one is a misfit.. I need to back and get some mates for it!!

PS.. the longest ones are 3 feet long!! I have 4 of those, I have 4 2 foot ones and 3 of some 18" ones.. (that is where the odd ball was from) and 2 shorties I will use a lot

Also in this bag will be the extra wire ties and medical shears to cut them..

I do use my roof basket a lot.. and I have a new surco rack on it's way... I am thinking about a oak or maple floor for it too..

Lots 'O securing devices in my rig, but mostly ratchet straps.

I would like to get one of those "Bungee Spider Webs" for my trailer though. Anyone have an idea where I could pick one up? The Pep Boys and the like don't have any here, that I have seen anyhow...

Yep.. Got the straps too.. But the cords are great when needing to tie things down to the roof basket.. Ie: kids bikes, coolers, what have ya... I found a place that thses were on sale for like $.50 for the 3 foot ones and like $.25 for the smaller ones... I could not help myself from shelling out a fiver..

Hey azrain,

Most auto parts stores should have those spider webs, or at least be able to order one. I checked the Pep Boys site just out of curiosity, they had one online for $34 or so, free shipping too I think!

That is good stuff to carry Lee.
In my cargo box I have a whole slew of bungies on tap.

And my cargo box and sub are tied down to the floor with good ratchet straps.

Bungies come in very handy, especaily for the roof rack.

Don't forget to bring along a pair of cutters or a knife to cut those cable ties in case you need a bungie!

I have a bunch of bungies in my rig as well. They are the EPDM rubber ones with the thick metal hooks. You never know when you may need them. I also have some webbing from the fire house. Basically, what that is is a flat piece of "cloth" cabable of holding 10,000 pounds. I have that for an emergency! :fireman:

Bob... yea, but mine are like in a bag... LOL..

My supply had been getting a little short so I needed to re-stock, I got the bags at a el-cheapie type store near me (2 bags for $10, and I fit my tow strap, heavy gloves and all my shackles in the other one very nicely)

You all should of seen it the other day when we got some mattresses for my oldest son.. Sniff, no more bunk beds... he has a real bed in his own room now..

But I found myself short a ratchet strap some where.. Iwas down to only one... So, I took my tow strap, shackled it to the front bar, up over the roof the the rear of the mattresses, and under the rack.. I then hooked one end of the ratchet strap to the front of the basket, ran it thru the other end of the tow strap and ran it thru the front of the basket.. Now over the mattress from one side to the other and secured it back to the basket.. Man it worked like a charm.. Kinda weird with the tow strap in front of the windshield....

Around here we call that Yankee Inginuity...

Performance Products has the bungee spider webs in their catalog.

I would carry more stuff in the truck if I could fit more stuff behind my back seat. As far a securing devices, I have two pairs of rachet straps and 4 bungee cords. I like the black rubber ones better than the cloth covered bungee cords. I also carry a first-aid kit, two flashlights, a tow strap, a hook for my hitch receiver, gloves, a tarp, a newspaper and water proof matches (to start a fire if needed), and an extra pair of socks. I also always keep a little extra money hidden in the truck. I lost my wallet once and didn't have any money to buy gas for the way home. Never again will I be in that situation.
