Doing some routine maintainence tonight...brakes, rotors and such.....There has been a seriously annoying squeak coming from underneath. I finally got the chance to jack it up and put it on stands and try to locate the problem.....It sounds like it's coming from the double cardan joint....either that or the t-case. It's a very high pitched squeak that is def during rotation. It stops every so often but then never fails to return.

It's loud and hard to pin-point exactly. But it's coming from right there at the joint. I took the driveshaft out, put it in drive to let it spin and the noise is no longer there...leading me to believe it's def coming from the joint....

The question is first....could there be something in the t-case that wouldn't make noise when there wasn't the pressure of spinning the entire shaft, axles, and tires.

2nd of all.....have these joint's been known to have problems?? I greased the u-joints about 2 months ago because it was squeaking then....upon further inspection tonight, with driveshaft in hand, I found the 3rd zerk that looks to go to the cardan joint. And I don't believe I greased it.

This 4runner is bone stock it's entire 145k mile life. Very limited off road use. Any help would be appreciated...Ideas or anything else for that matter. Left the d-shaft out because I'm tired and headed to bed.
