There really aren't a ton of mods you can do to coerce more power from your 3.0, unless you really want to start digging into engine internals.
You can do a cat-back exhaust system as many of us have, headers, and an intake. If you want to get a little deeper, you can bore out the throttle body and put a more aggressive cam in (check DOA racing for this one). The 3.0 is never going to be a racer, but it will always get you wherever you need to go!

In my opinion this is the coolest mod you can do to a yota with the 3.0 and 5spd tranny :Throttle
For performance I'd also suggest a cat back system. KEEP THE CAT! I recently had a new exhaust set up on my truck, I had the cat cut out, a flowmaster put in and dumped it over the rear axle. It sounds pretty good but because I had the cat cut out I lost low end power, and it's a little too loud

i have a 91 yota pu ext v6. check my signature to see my specs.
mods huh? hm well pretty much my truck came pretty modded up.
for more power... i have k&n. i cant say how muhc power it added coz i havent driven it w/o one. but i think modding your intake will free some power. my friend said one of the best engine mods you could do was the headers and the tb (no tb spacer). downy off-road has some awesome headers and larger tb.
are you going to be running larger tires? if you do get a gear reduction. im running 35's at 456 and its pretty good. most ppl get 529 for 35" tires... but my 456 do great. you just loose off the top end speed. i do about 75-80 which is plenty fast for me, esp with 4 points on my driving record!
theres TONS of mods you can do ... little ones... big ones.... ones to just personalize your truck to yourself!

they would help either in rock crawling or climbing hills. coz if you stop at an incline... you have to hold the break with right foot, and left foot clutch. then u have to transfer your break foot slightly over to hit the gas but not too much to let the break go. or u can just let the break go and go for the gas and press the right gas and clutch in just enuf to stop the vechicle from sliding back.
or you could just left foot clutch, right foot break and gas with your thumb!
