mix and match
I have seen several people who have used Old Man Emu springs and shocks on the rear of their 3rd Gen, while using the Sway Away coil overs up front. I am wondering why people do this? Other than adjusting ride height (which the rear does not have anyway) I am at a loss. It would seem to me that using the Medium duty springs and comfort shocks from OME all around would produce the best combination, so why switch it up? I ask because I plan on getting the Medium duty stuff from OME next week, but now am having second thoughts about the Sway Away.
Finally, which setup would you recommend for me? I am most interested in ride quality.....controlled and comfortable. THANKS!!

Wow! In a hurry for info or something?
First of all, if you do OME in the front, you will probably need a spacer to keep things level. That issue has been discussed time and again. There are plenty of people who have OME all the way around though.
Secondly, Sway-A-Ways are nice because you can always adjust if the springs sag or you add extra weight from a bumper, winch or both. Oh yeah, they give a nice ride too. It's like butter going over rocks and bumps. I'll admit, I jumped on the bandwagon with these. However, people who have tried different combos of suspension (unlike myself) prior to these, indicate this is the best out there, so I figure I'd do it right the first time. The King coil-overs should be equal in performance, but add a little more cost.
The OME medium duty springs will give you less lift than the HD ones. Depends on what your after I guess. If you wheel it, go with the heavy duty (891) springs for more lift.
I love the ride on mine. SAW's up front set to 2.5" and OME HD springs with comfort shocks in the rear. The rear springs have given me 3.5" to this point and haven't sagged yet 4 months later. I'm sure they'll settle to 3" sooner or later.
