Can anyone tell me what the empty conector (blue) is for in this pic?
From the corosion I would say it hasen't been connected in a while.
I searched all around trying to find its mate but ...no dice.

its probably for some option you dont have or its a diagnostic test connector......
all vehicles got the same wiring harness even if they werent equipped with the same options

I should say that it is a 94 runner wit all the bs options auto etc.. .. I guess thats why I thought it ought to have a home. Could be related to 5sp I guess.. maybe clutch cancel switch?

In your pic you can see the corner mounting nut for the intake plenum.
If you look straight down beside/below it to where it meets with the intake plate you will see where that connector plugs in which, I think, is for another O2 sensor.
