Manual Hub Conversion, about to do...

I just got my new hubs, spindles and axles to swap out my add for manual hubs.

For those who have done the conversion do you have any pointers?

It's a pain to do the conversion. You may still have to have everything pressed apart and back together into your ADD spindles if you want to keep the ABS.

When I did this one of my spindles was destroyed while pressing out the bearing. I had to purchase a brand new spindle from the dealership. It was like $300.

I don't have abs so no worries there.

I was just curious if anybody had any tricks or things to look out for while doing this. I have my fingers crossed for an easy switch.

In that case it should be an easy swap.

The swap is pretty straight-forward. The only issues I ran into were associated with the suspension/control arm swap I did at the same time.

I used these instructions for pointers along the way. Real good write-up. As stated above, it's not real hard if you don't have to mess with swapping the hubs/bearings over for ABS. Should be an easy swap.

CV axle swap

I will research the number of kits I can come up with. Perhaps I can find one more. The kit includes everything you need, except for new C-clips.

Keep in mind, my kit will NOT allow you retain ABS without modifying the spindles and axles. It is a bolt on kif for Non-ABS vehicles, but will work in ABS vehicles if you disregard the ABS system.

Did they really make newer toyotas without abs? That just seems weird.

DeatCougar, Vehicle has ABS, but am not concerned about ABS at all... let me know... am in no rush either... am stuck waiting for my truck anyhow... may be a month plus till I get it... sucks, but am willing to wait less than 60,000 miles on it...

WOW so many requests!!!

Like i said above guys, i only have one left, and right now its on reserve to Dave??? (i dont know your yotatech name since you called Nix99 personally??!!)

When more kits become available, i will post them on here.

calg3-Yes, the kit does include factory aisin hubs...all parts are factory parts
steelhead-i ought to be payin ya lol...lots of requests! Last time i posted up about conversions on here, no one responded!!
Mr Bob-It may be a while before we get one in with less than 60k...manual hub trucks with low miles is raaaare. usually they range 75-125k miles.

Fear not, i will keep all these names saved and at the ready, once I get more kits. If Dave does not end up purchasing the kit, next in line would be Aaron, then Mr Bob.
