Manik Grill Problem
Ok, I have a Manik grill on my 4Runner and I was taking it to the car wash to get washed. Well, they thought they were being nice and did the deluxe wash which included hot wax. Now the rubber on my grill is REALLY sticky and looking really bad. Bird feathers stick to it, dog hair, anything. I wasn't even mad and asked them if they knew of anything that will get the stickyness off but not hurt the rubber. The few cleaners I did find, said it would hurt the rubber. I took it to them asking if in their detail part did they have anything and I could get it off, but they all get really affended... I wasn't even mad. They told me that their hot wax doesn't do it but it started the 2nd time through the wash. I've done nothing else. Does anyone know of anything that might get the stickeyness off? I'm thinking about calling Manik and seeing how much it is to buy rubber and glue it back on.

kinda sounds like the "stickyness" is a layer of melted rubber? I have the same little rubber pieces on mine and it looks like the can be removed with some persuasion. You might look into buying new ones if you can, preferably get the car wash to buy you some new ones.
