More stupidity from an over-zealous legislature. Glad I don't live there but I can see a trend starting. Why can't they leave the honest citizens alone and go after the illegal aliens and hardened criminals running loose on the streets? (Now donning flame retardent suit)

and I thought CA was bad!

But then again we can't have a clear cover on our plates though. Not sure about the plate frame that obstructs the numbers/letters though.... Must be something new...

Yeah, that law is pretty gay. I'm sure it was directed towards all the stupid rice burners. That I don't have a problem with. The problem is that the legislature isn't smart enough to write the law so that it doesn't affect honest citizens that don't put neon lights and that crap on their license plates. I wonder what they were doing when they wrote this law.

I've already tried to take mine off but I think the previous owner must have been a moron. Apparently the old screws rusted into the holes and the heads of them broke off. So instead of fixing it the right way he just drilled holes in them and used sheet metal screws. I'm just going to use some self-tapping screws as a quick fix.

This is just another thing to give the cops a reason to screw the oridinary law abiding (most of the time) citizens.

There's a push for similar legislation here in Delaware, but it only covers the reflective coatings. They've started using red light cameras here and the reflective coatings render the plates invisible due to the reflection from the flash.

Too conservative, what's that?

As for being ass backwards, this law is definitely that way.

Gosh, I wonder if they'd pull me over down there if they saw that my FOP emblem covered part of my plate?

Of course, soon it won't matter -- it'll all be covered with SNOW!!

Personally, I can't blame them. What's the point of a license plate if it's going to be covered with a bunch of crap? I'm surprised it was allowed in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, I have a frame also. Just glad it's not my state passing that law (yet).

I am for that! I posted this in that other thread, this is how I feel about those dumb thing:

"I was kind of glad because everytime my wife drops her runner off at Dong McGill for service they stick those things on. I take them off immediately and they stick a new set on when it rolls in. Next time I am going to tell the service lacky not to put those things on unless they plan on paying me advert fees!"

just install a james bond type license plate flipper thingy that removes the so called obstructed plate.

The liberal yups want eveyone to drive vehicles that look like they were made by Ikea and run on grass. dont be surprised if you will have to wear a helmet while driving.
