The other day i was looking at steve schaefer's (Sp?) website and saw the pics of the shackle hangers he makes. They looked very nice and well made but they were just a little too expensive for me and my college budget. I also remember seeing what seems to be the same shackle part that steve uses on the rockstomper.com website for $20 a piece. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to build some of my own by using the hanger part from rockstomper and puttin it in 1.5 OD square tube that is 1/4" thick making a 1" ID which is the same width as the hanger piece. I would also leave exrta material pass the actual hanger to add a gusset and i would also use the dactory hitch bolts as well. I am no master fabricator nor certified but i did take a welding class a year go at some community college and have welded all the suspension hangers on my previous 84 4runner and they have held up just fine.
