MAJOR problem with the TPS!

ok for 3 weeks now I've been trying to figure out what is wrong with my tps.. I have put 2 new ones on. That didn't fix it. I've even got my uncle who owns a mechanic shop to check it out. We've done a full diognostic test and it keeps shooting back to the tps. but we also did a ohm meter test and volts and according to the haynes manual it is where its suppose to be at. also the tps is not adjustable one you just slap it on and bolt it. The way its acting up is that , atleast 3 times a day my engine light will come on and then i have like a second delay on throttle and also I can't get full power! I can put my foot in the floor and its like I'm barely hitting the gas... I'm open to any suggestions! ty!

also stuff I've done hoping to fix it:
fuel filter
x2 tps ( throttle position sensor )
tried taking it off and re hooking it up several times
ohm meter test
volt meter test
full diognostics
even ran 3 bottles of seafoam hoping maybe I have a gas stobbage someone?

I've had a few people suggest someone put stuff in my tank but idk how that would affect my tps ...

I thought a TPS was adjustable. Post stats of your truck, (year, motor, etc.)

on a 22re or 3L, sure.

On a 95.5-97 Tacoma 2.7L, sure again.

On a 95.5-04 3.4L and a 98-04 2.7L, the TPS is not adjustable.

Maybe one of the wires going to/from the TPS is shorting or grounding out. What's the code you're getting?

It shooting a po120. which is ofc the TPS. I read up online and even in the haynes manual that the po120 code is 1 of 3 things.
the tps is bad ( its not )
the tps connector ( its not )
the ecu/ecm circuit ( have not tested it )

oh and its a
1998 taco
3.4L
AT

so I'm going to just get a new ecu, if I can find one. I've been looking for 2 hours... no luck

What does this mean?

Did you connect to the ODBII bus and check what readings the ECU is getting from the TPS?

I think that last choice means there's a problem in the wiring (or circuit) going to and from the TPS and the ECU like I was saying earlier, not the ECU itself. I could be wrong, but it makes more sense IMO.

TPS problems suck....it sounds like its most likely the ECM circuit, or a bad connection, if you have checked everything else. Scuba had a good post, your TPS is not adjustable. The problem with the OHM meter test is that the TPS could be bad, and this test would not reveal it. The flaw is in the TPS arm as it moves, thus only being detected by the ECM, so x2 on brians advice

Since you replaced the TPS, (OEM I hope) , try cleaning all of your connections: TPS connection and ECM connection.

well see I've done the ohm test and even a voltage one and every thing checks out fine and as I poste din the begining its my THIRD TPS... so tomorrow I'm going back to the shop to check the wiring I guess. It's going to be hell lol. but yes I do agree its wiring cause If it was my ECU it would be like that constantly ( at least I would think so )
