85 4runnner, 22re. Everytime I am wheelin in the mountains or at high altitude my 4runner burns oil like no other, it smokes like crazy out the tail pipe. I bring it back down the mountain and the burning of oil and smoking goes away. my MAF sensor has been opened up, so it must have been adjusted by the previous owner. There isn't any special camshaft or intake, so there is no reason they should have touched it and why won't it burn oil down here. I have heard the computer is supposed to control altitude, but computers don't usaully go bad even though a lot of people like to point to them. Has anyone else had this problem. Any help is appreciated, Thanks in advance.
