Low beams just stopped working tonight, but highbeams work?!?

I left to get dinner tonight and on the way to the restaurant no problems, on the way back I started driving and as soon as I got out of the well lit parking lot I noticed my low beams werent on, so I checked everything inside and there were no problems (couldnt go outside lotsa rain). It is still raining so Ill have to check for mroe details tomorrow.

But the weirdest part is my high beams work BUT the blue highbeam light in the dash doesnt come on, and I know they are high beams because on the way back home I could barely see the road but the highway signs 30 feet in the air were bright as day.

Anybody experienced anything remotely like this, what is really killing me is why the darn blue light isnt turning on anymore when I use my high beams... what the deuce...

99 4runner Limited, removed stock lower fog lamps when I installed TJM (6 months ago), cant really think of anything else to do with the front lights.

thanks!

Same thing happened to me when I put in the 4crawler wiring harness. The harness could not handle the load and blew. The way it was explained to me was that we always have power to high-beams but not low. I'm not an expert and this is what I remember. My blue indicator light also didn't work.

As soon as I disconnected the harness, everything was back to normal so I'm assuming you blew a fuse or you have a short in your system.

i bet that both of your low beams burned out at the same time, mine did the same thing and that was the problem

Good possilbility both lows are blown, use a test light or digital meter and probe the blue/blk wire at the lamps. If there is B+ ,lamps are shot, if no B+ , ck. the same wire at the combo switch. This could be bad also.
Do you have DRL? If so , it's a different set up.
