i just recently installed a K&N FIPK on my 88 3.0 V6 4runner and you can really hear the intake sucking in air when the truck is in idle. When i start driving the noise goes away. Is this normal for the truck to be making this noise after the installation of the FIPK??

yup! And when you get into the gas you will hear the engine growl a bit more.

Yea its completly normal sounds pretty cool i think.

you should also notice and increase in MPG, about a 2mph gain on absolute top speed, and notice that you still have a lot of torque on HOT days as opposed to before having none at all with the stock system.
