Looking for t3/t4 turbo info for 2.7 or S. African S/C

not somethign i really want to do but id enjoy reading up on the t3/t4 turbo and/or the imported supercharger for the 2.7 made by some south african company. apparently TRD now offers the S/C for the 2.7 but uses a smaller blower, no ecu mods and no fuel mods.

What do you want to know about the t3/t4?
I run a Garrett T3/T04E (.48/.60 50 Trim) and love it on the 3RZ Had a .63/.60 before and that ran nice also, but a bit laggier than the .48 obviously.

did you custom fabricate the entire turbo setup? what are you using for ecu/fuel management?

The turbo setup was a complete custom setup. South Florida Performance (SFP) did the tubular manifold, and a friend and I did all of the intercooler piping/downpipe/etc. Fuel setup is 550cc injectors managed by a Greddy e-manage system. Old setup was a Vortech 6:1 FMU with the Greddy.

this guy makes turbo manifolds for tacos. I think they run 400 or 450. After that, buy whatever turbo you want and get someone to do the pipe for you.

Finally someone with turbo charging experience with yotas...

That is T3 housing holding the T04E-50 wheel? Could you walk me through the process of selecting the proper compressor from the compressor maps?

For the 4.0L v6 that toyota has I keep coming up with a T3-60 being the best compressor wheel looking at flow rates. A speed shop recommended a T4 with T04E-60 compressor wheel....

Any problems with your setup thus far?

last ? - the 3RZ is the 2.7L turboed 4 cyl?

the t3/t4 means it's a t3 exhaust housing (smaller housing for quicker spool) with a t4 compressor housing (larger housing for greater top end). it's a compromise between a straight t3 and a straight t4 in terms of spool time/power.

to find the right size turbo, figure out how much boost you want to run and at what rpm you want to reach that boost level. then calculate the airflow at that rpm level. plot that on the compressor map (pressure is the y-axis, cfm is the x-axis) and see where it lies on the map. the goal is to try and get it in the "island" or ring where the turbo is most efficient. if you want more specific info, email or PM me. i can give you all the equations and such

no the 3rz is the 2.7l n/a engine (2rz is the 2.4l). i don't think there's been a turbo 4cyl engine since the 22ret
