Looking for a short or long block
Does anyone know of a reliable place to get a short or long block for a 94 4runner 3vze, and also has anyone dealt with this company for remanufactured engines or know anything about this company http://www.rebuilt-auto-engines.com/...31104105894.db ?

Cost $1799.00 shipped to me in July. They are located in Falmouth, KY
Long block came with gaskets, new timing belt, idler pulley and a pre-test run report. 3 year warranty.
I have about $2400.00 in the install and I did the work. Replaced all 6 injectors, new knock sensor, several other sensors had to be replaced
as the engine had 200,000 miles and when I tried to unplug the harness the sensor snapped off. I have about 4000 miles on this new engine - no problems / no complaints. The new engine did not provide any new found horsepower - it just don't use any oil !
There is a $425.00 core charge if your engine has thrown a rod - it has to be rebuildable. I think that my engine actually blew a head gasket - but with 200,000 miles and the fact that I was 400 miles from home - convinced me to replace only. Junk yard motors run about $1500.00 but you do not know what you are buying - just my 2 cents worth.

Orient is the place, half the cost of anyone else. I put mine in in my buddys garage, he rented me a bay for 200$ for the week and gave me alot of good advice. I wish I would have been able to replace injecters EGR valve the little stuff that goes with it but the motor was solid when I got it from orient. Shipping is including with that price.

From another Origonian....
Call Brian at M+B Cylinder head in portland (503 286-1725) he rebuilds 3.0's regularly for $1500 if i remember right (complete long block with warranty). He does very good work, He actually does most all the rebuild cyl heads you see at foster auto parts and alot of the other big parts houses in the portland/valley area. He only does aluminum stuff but he is the king of cyl head welding in the area.
I was up there last week and he had a 3.0 core sitting in the back we where looking at after he finished welding my 3.0 manifold back together (I cut it in half to port it out ) His machine shop is off vancover way near jubits truck stop. I take everything up there (I live in salem).
