Looking Into a 96+ 4runner

Hey guys and girls,

I just had a general question about 96+ 4runners and the 3.4.

Im considering selling my 94 ext cab, and getting a 96+ 4runner. Meaning I want more seating for all my friends and I want the 3.4.

So I guess my question is, how much of a dog will the comparison be if any, going from a 3.0 5-speed pickup to a 3.4 auto 4runner. Will I be happy with the power difference or will it feel about the same? Im kinda curious about this seeing that the 4runners are heavier.

Thanks for any input people post up.

Casey

{EDIT} ohh ya, if anyone is interested in a 94+ 4x4 5-speed ext cab. PM me. I'll probably post it up in the for sale section in a little bit.
Yotatech-ers get first priority....

Casey, don't know about a 5 speed, but going from a 3.0 auto to the 3.4 auto is a world of difference. The best way to tell is to test drive and then decide. By the way, I believe the 96 3.4 is under the head gasket, rear suspension and fuel gage either recall or TSB's. Do a search and then find out if they have been done to it.

You will definately notice a huge difference and if you don't get enough, there is always the possibility of adding a S/C and the URD fuel mods.

If that still doesn't do it for you....you need to pony up and buy this:

Ya wow!! I saw that motor the day he posted it...

Talk about some serious power. I wish I had the duckets for that..

Anyway thanks for the input. Im going to go and test drive a runner later this week.

If you plan on doing any offroading, consider looking at 3rd Gen models with the factory installed e-locker.

As Bob said I have a 96 4runner that I hate to sell but it's built pretty decent! It's ready to wheel or daily Drive!
